Instead of the boxy, shoulder-padded silhouettes associated with earlier power-dressing eras, today’s suits favor softer tailoring, unexpected colors, and far more flexibility in how the pieces are worn.

Proportions have shifted noticeably. Where suits once relied on a fitted jacket and matching trouser for a uniform silhouette, many current iterations mix a relaxed, slightly oversized blazer with a more fitted trouser, or pair a cropped jacket with wide-leg pants, creating contrast within the outfit rather than uniformity.
